Culpeper Soil and Water Conservation District
The CSWCD serves Greene County and four other counties by proving landowners with a wide range of programs to encourage community participation in conserving soil, water and related natural resources. The district provides advice on best management practices and manages funds distributed to landowners engaged in various conservation programs.

Extension Service
The Virginia Tech Extension Division extends the educational resources of Virginia’s Land Grant Institutional to all citizens of Green County. Emphasis is directed toward meeting the needs of citizens who live on farms and in communities as well as firms and organizations that provide services to the people.
Educational programs and activities are planned in agriculture and natural resources, 4-H, family resources, community resource development, state technical services, business, architecture, engineering and environment and urban systems. The extension agents office is located at 10013 Spotswood Trail in the Greene County Annex Complex in Stanardsville.
Kathy Alstat is the 4-H agent and unit coordinator.
