The Greene County Commonwealth’s Attorney, Ronald L. Morris, is an elected, constitutional, law enforcement official. The primary responsibility of the Commonwealth’s Attorney is the prosecution of criminal cases in the three courts serving Greene County. Also, he acts as a legal advisor to the Greene County Sheriff’s Department and other local law enforcement agencies.
The Commonwealth’s Attorney provides information to the public concerning the criminal judicial system and the criminal laws of Virginia. In addition, a special effort is made by the Commonwealth’s Attorney and his staff to assist victims of crime and witnesses who may have to participate in the prosecution of criminal cases.
