The Greene County Branch of the Jefferson-Madison Regional Library at 222 Main Street, Stanardsville is open six days a week, Monday through Saturday.

Library cards are free to all residents of Virginia and public internet and notary services is also free. The library offers reference service and interlibrary loan. Meeting room facilities are available to nonprofit community groups.

In addition to books for all ages, there are audio books, music CDs, videos and DVDs, language tapes, large print books and popular magazines.

Teen Girls Book Club meets last Monday evening of each month at 7pm. in the meeting room.

Every Thursday morning is pre-school story time at 10:30 am. for ages 2-5. No registration required.

The Greene County Library Adult Book Group meets the first Thursday of each month at 7 pm. in the meeting room.

The library offers a free independent film series the fourth Wednesday of each month at 7 pm. in the library meeting room.

Group visits to the library may be scheduled in advance.  They also offer a summer reading program. The Friends of the Greene County Library provide volunteer support of the library operations.
