4th and uglier: Clemson 10, Virginia 3 (4th Qtr.)

Starting with excellent field position, Virginia drove the ball into Clemson territory. That meant little after Cedric Peerman was scooped up in the backfield on a carry on 4th-and-1. Virginia’s defense is back on the field - again.

Touchdown ... or not: Clemson 10, UVa 3 (4th Qtr.)

Virginia wideout Kevin Ogletree danced around in the end zone, thinking that he had Virginia’s first touchdown of the game. Not so fast my friend. The play was called back after KO was flagged for pass interference. There was contact, but was it enough to signal the junior? Hard to say.

New life: Clemson 10, Virginia 3 (3rd Qtr.)

Virginia received a big break when Clemson botched a shotgun snap and turned the ball over. The snap glanced off the facemask of Clemson QB Cullen Harper and was collected by Virginia CB Vic Hall. What will the Cavs do with it?

So Predictable: Clemson 10, Virginia 3 (3rd Qtr.)

After moving the ball inches into Clemson territory, Virginia was faced with a 4th-and-1. Al Groh wasted a timeout and went for it. In shotgun formation, Virginia QB Marc Verica tried to throw a short pass that was batted down. That may haunt the Cavs in December.

Thus far, Clemson has solved Virginia’s simple offense. The Cavaliers look really slow compared to the Tigers.
