Piling it on: Virginia Tech 42, Virginia 13 (FINAL): The orange shirts are clearly outnumbered right now inside Scott Stadium. Those that are left inside the stadium have a lot to cheer about. Virginia Tech is piling it on.

Heading for the exits: Virginia Tech 35, Virginia 13 (4th Qtr): Virginia Tech has done it again. Killing my chance to pick the score on the nose, the Hokies scored yet another touchdown. Virginia fans spilled out after the fifth one of the day.

Fumble fever: Virginia Tech 21 , Virginia 13 (3rd Qtr): For years, fans have begged for Virginia to run the option. They may never ask again. It was painful to watch as UVa tailback Mikell Simpson failed to catch an easy pitch from Jameel Sewell. The blunder led to an easy touchdown for the Hokies and may have sealed the deal at Scott Stadium. The Cavaliers have 20 minutes to rally.

The art of icing your own kicker: Virginia Tech 14, Virginia 13 (Halftime): After failing to get the kick team on the field fast enough, Virginia was forced to call a timeout. It looked like the Cavaliers were icing their own placekicker. It didn't work. Robert Randolph drilled one home from 41 yards out from the right hash mark.

Wide right: Virginia Tech 14, Virginia 10 (2nd Qtr): Virginia Tech kicker Matt Waldron just pushed a 40-yard field goal about the length of a shoebox to the right, keeping the margin in place at four points. It really was that close.
