So Predictable: Clemson 10, Virginia 3 (3rd Qtr.)

After moving the ball inches into Clemson territory, Virginia was faced with a 4th-and-1. Al Groh wasted a timeout and went for it. In shotgun formation, Virginia QB Marc Verica tried to throw a short pass that was batted down. That may haunt the Cavs in December.

Thus far, Clemson has solved Virginia’s simple offense. The Cavaliers look really slow compared to the Tigers.

Virginia, as bad as it played, is still alive in this contest. The Cavaliers had two turnovers, punted three times and do not have 100 yards of total offense yet and Clemson has let Virginia hang around.

Oops, he did it again: Clemson 7, UVa 0 (1st Qtr.)

Marc Verica helped elevate the chances that Jameel Sewell would be the starting QB next year at Virginia. Verica threw a silly interception that set up Clemson’s touchdown.
