I can hope. ... Miami put the nail in the coffin with yet another touchdown after the shady penalty on Virginia linebacker Cam Johnson. On the play in question, Johnson rushed into the backfield, sacked Jacory Harris and took the signal caller’s helmet off. The ball popped loose and the two players wrestled over it. After pushing and shoving, a flag was called for personal fouls on both players. In order to see the spot of where the fumble was recovered by Harris, the officials went to instant replay. After the review, an additional penalty was called on Johnson for taking off Harris’ helmet. The right call? Yes. But can it be found on a review? It takes a smarter man than me to figure that out, but I thought Iowa would win and the Hawkeyes just lost to Northwestern. ... While typing in that recap, Miami scored again on a 5-play, 90-yard drive that included a 70-yard run. Virginia’s defense has mailed it in. ... Today’s attendance was announced at 48,350. Virginia AD Craig Littlepage would take that and smile. Next week’s crowd against Boston College may be half of that.
