Lieb goes long: Monticello 20, Richlands 6 (2nd Qtr.)

Monticello’s offense is not blog friendly. It just operates too fast. ... Perhaps this is training for the Gator Bowl. ... On the two touchdowns for Monticello, quarterback Michael Graham found wideout Daniel Lieb. The first on a “wheel” play required blocking and Lieb’s speed. The second came after a play-action fake and a deep bomb down the right sidelines. ... Monticello tried to go for a trick play on the first two-point conversion. It was designed for the holder to flip the ball over his head to the placekicker, Alex “Gold Shoes” Brown, and have the ball raced to the right corner of the end zone. The play worked, Brown beat two defenders to the corner, but an odd ruling on the field signaled the play dead (it appeared the ref said the holder’s knee came off the ground and then went back down). The second two-point conversion looked a lot smoother. ...
