Designated for Assignment

Touchdown time: Virginia 10, Richmond 0 (4th Qtr.)

The 35,000 fans here (I am guessing on that count) were able to stand and sing for the third time all season. Mikell Simpson scooted into the end zone on a 1-yard run, following nasty blocks from tight ends John Phillips and Joe Torchia and fullback Rashawn Jackson. Yannick Reyering nailed the extra-point attempt. ... During the drive, Pete Lalich appeared to regain some confidence in himself and hit what appears to be his favorite target, wideout Kevin Ogletree, for a nice completion. ... The story of the game on offense, however, is Cedric “Pastor” Peerman. This kid is what football is all about. Play through pain. Tape up an injury. Give your team everything you can muster. That’s what Peerman is all about. We will have to find out after the game, but Peerman appeared to hurt his ribs and hip in the first quarter. He sucked it up and returned, but was limited throughout the game.
