Where is this team’s pride? Wake 28, UVa 3 (Halftime)

Posted on 11/08 at 05:59 PM

Virginia has ran 30 offensive plays and amassed just 82 yards. Yes, just 82 yards. The Wahoos did get six first downs, five of which came in the second quarter. Marc Verica has been shaky at best. The sophomore was good enough to win at Georgia Tech, so he has the ability to win on the road. You would have a tough time telling that to Wake Forest fans in the crowd. Verica is 7 for 20 for 42 yards and has two interceptions. A fumble could have been added to the mix had a play not been stopped by a false start on the Cavs. ... Kevin Ogletree led the UVa wideouts, catching two passes for 18 yards. ... I give Verica a pass for now. He is not playing on the offensive line. ... Wake quarterback Riley Skinner has completed nine passes, finding six different targets. ... I asked at halftime and the replay officials did make it here in time for the game. Could have fooled me. Not that it mattered. ... Wake gets the ball first in the second half.

I guess fans are fans for the purpose of criticizing coaches and players. :D At least it seems that way. But fans don’t criticize what they don’t care about. I’ve never criticized UVa’s
golf team. :D

So many people want Mike Groh to go? But really, don’t offensive co-ordinators just run the type of offenses that the head coaches want?

Maybe no one can do any better than Al Groh has at UVa. Once John Casteen let UVa’s biggest rival
in football in to the ACC, UVa had no place
to recruit.

The play calling is awful. get first and goal on the 2 and we send Peerman up the middle for no gain, off tackle for no gain and a poorly designed quaterback bootleg and finally a pass in the flat six yards from pay dirt. And we come away with nothing. The play calling and effort reminds me of the USC, Uconn, UR and Duke games and we won only one of those and the defense did most of that. One of the Grohs must go, preferably Mike. We need a real offensive coordinator. This game is pathetic. We may lose four in a row.
