Scenario:  You want a great outfit for the office that will double as a cute ensemble for going out with friends after a long work day (this resonates especially if you frequent Fridays After Five, which is now back in full swing). You need versatile pieces that balance Professional with Fun, but want a fresh and current look as well. And you don’t want to break the bank—you’d like to keep it under $200.

Can you have all of this in one ensemble? Of course you can!  I recommend layering a cardigan or blazer over a colorful dress—try color-blocking to keep up with the latest trends. Keep jewelry to a minimum, as the dress does the talking for you. In fact, a simple watch that can go from day to night is perfect. As you leave the office, tuck that sweater or jacket into a classic satchel, and keep shoes a neutral color that will work well with other pieces in your wardrobe, too. With budget in mind, stores like Urban Outfitters, Francesca’s Collections, and Target keep you and your wallet happy.
