My mother treats sinus infections like aggressive Swedish massage therapists treat misalligned vertebrae. There was no sympathy growing up, only relentless fluid forcing and unbearably hot showers twice a day. I rarely missed school, and always left the house armed with pockets full of Riccola and a little tube of Blistex Medicated Ointment.
This ingenious cream almost instantly repairs and smooths flaky lips, but it also does a number on chapped noses. I never resembled Rudolph, which made it impossibly difficult to convince teachers that I felt like death. So when a sick day is not an option, pack some Blistex. At least you won’t wear your cold on your nose.
