Women We Love

After putting to bed four Charlottesville Woman magazines I’ve come to this realization: There are many, many awesome women in our region! We decided to use the blog as a way to celebrate the achievements of the many talented women. After searching through our blog for ideas on how to do that I found the Women We Love series, which has not been updated since May 2009.

As I celebrate my one-year anniversary with the Daily Progress as its Special Sections Editor/Coordinator I have decided to revive that series. Starting June 23—and each Wednesday thereafter—we will profile a woman in our community who gives her all every day to make Charlottesville the wonderful city we know and love. As a working woman (and mother) myself I know the balancing act that is required of each of these ladies and I have nothing but the utmost respect and admiration for each of them.

I know my limitations, though, and there is no way I know every incredible woman in our area. With that in mind, I’d love to hear from you! You may write up to 500 words about an area woman who has motivated or inspired you. I may use it on the website near their blog post. I know I’m inspired by the terrific women in our region and I hope you will be, too. Send it to !
