Weekends aren’t just about catching up on sleep, laundry, and TiVo. They’re about adventures in DIY - the thrill of learning something new, making a bit of a mess, and hopefully making the home a little nicer/cuter/organized.
This weekend The Habitat Store has planned a day of DIY fun for women, by women, with the goal of educating women - both homeowners and renters - about home maintenance. The event will include practical how-to workshops and do-it-yourself demonstrations for projects around the house and yard plus refreshments, games, contests, tours of the Store, and special discounts and coupons. Guys are welcome too!
This event, free and open to the public, is being organized by volunteers from Leadership Charlottesville with help from Habitat’s Women Build and the Girl Scouts of Virginia Skyline Council. No need to RSVP, but if you have any questions contact Carla at 434.293.6331 or email .
The event will be held at The Habitat Store (at 1221 Harris Street) on Saturday, April 18 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Bonus: all window blinds at The Habitat Store are 50 percent off - just in time for the sunny season.
