My condolence to the family. Please know that LeRoi touched many lives and a smile will be upon our faces when thinking of him. I sent out a prayer to you, his friends, as well as his fellow band members early this am when i was told. Even though i live in Texas, I was born and raised in Charlottesville (Carter and Tinsley, my neighbors ) I just left Ch’ville on Monday from visiting my dad, and i did ask a local if they knew how LeRoi was doing? They said that they thought he was home. To Carter,Tinsley, and the rest of the band members, I pray that your hearts are eased, just knowing that God is by all of your side, and LeRoi’s memory will never be forgotten. His beautiful sax music to be forever comfort to our ears. Again, to Leroi’s family—May God comfort you forever, and keep peace in your heart.——Ruby Brown ( TEXAS )

To the family and band member of LeRoi:
LeRoi will always been remembered as a solemn, calm and musical genius…
Carter/Boyd/Dave..I know the pain that you all must be feeling can be sometimes unbearable and heavy to the heart not just today but forever..“peace be with you my brothers” Let the pain be replaced with musical wonder…
For all that knew LeRoi from “home” and in the business we can all say he lived for his music..found peace in his music….now his music will forever remind us of peace and life….
Rest in peace, LeRoi…you will always be missed, but never forgotten.

LeRoi was such an important part of ‘the machine’ that made the Dave Matthews band what it is. There’s no words to describe the emptiness so many feel for a life that was taken much, much too soon. Someone told it best the other day when they said “Don’t mourn over the loss of the life, but praise what his life gave to yours” I, and hundreds of thousands, millions even, have shared such significant parts of our lives, good nad bad, to the music DMB has created over the years and it won’t be the same without ol ‘Roi. God Bless him for all he gave to so many.

Those of us that schooled with LeRoi at Western Albemarle would be hard pressed to find a picture or a memory of LeRoi that didn’t also have his sax - he truly lived through his music. He will be missed; his music will be missed.
My condolences to his family and close friends.

What luck for us that LeRoi left us music to listen to in times such as this.
Since as far back as middle school he has been prominent in the soundtrack of my life, and in his work I will always find a sense of continuity with the past. To me at least, that makes his life an unqualified success. The human race owns a better reputation for having had him among us.

Eh Hee”,“Bartender” when you pour another for me, will you please pour one for the
“PROUDEST MONKEY”? I have heard you can turn “WATER INTO WINE”.
I’ll set my “SLEDGEHAMMER “ here by “#41” and there I think it will be fine.
Has “ANYONE SEEN THE BRIDGE” that leads to “THE MAKER”, where they spread “LOVING WINGS” and welcome all the “DANCING NANCIES” with open arms? Thats why “EVERYDAY” I love to go and lie “UNDER THE DREAMING TREE” where I feel “SO DAMN LUCKY “to be able to be.I like watching the “ANTS MARCHING” by and feel the breeze “CRASH INTO ME” as I wait for the “SATELLITE” to appear I watch for my “SISTER” because she is to bring me the “CORNBREAD” she had made that day wearing her “LONG BLACK VAIL” and we will “CELEBRATE…FOR LIFE IS SHORT BUT SWEET FOR CERTAIN” And there we will “STAY FOR AWHILE” before we “TWO STEP” with a “SPACE BETWEEN” all the way down “Grey Street” where we can hear the sweet sound of your SAX “BURNING DOWN THE HOUSE” before we bid “GOOD~BYE”
I ask that God give your family immediate and extended, the strength to get through the toughest of days, weeks, months, even years that lie ahead. Stage Left will never be the same but if we listen closely we can still hear you play. I know you will be playing all the while you soar way above the heavens. We will miss you Mr.JAZZ~MAN.Though our hearts are heavy now they will lighten in time as we listen to all the beautiful music you and Dave created together and left behind.
RIP Mr. Moore ~~~~~~~~XO BAYOUBELLEUSA~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

DMB was my oldest grandaughters 1st concert @ “The Woodlands “ in Houston in 2001,she was 5 and she had the time of her life, it had rained and was muddy as hell we kept slipping and sliding in the mud because the lawn was sloped & she had fallen down several times and had mud all over her I mean she was covered, as a baby she hated her hands to be dirty we were wiping her hands constantly she touched her kool~aid cup it was wipe her hands, food on her high chair tray, wipe her hands, while she was eating, wipe her hands it was some kind of phobia with her as a baby and a small child. Though she never stopped dancing the entire concert and singing and dancing in the mud, at 1 point she asked “whats that funny looking thing that mans blowing on?“... Well LeRoi Sir, you introduced her to the Saxaphone, when she was 5. Thank You! We were very close to a big screen and she would watch all the band play their instruments. I think she got her guitar at age 7 and she wanted to learn how to play. My girls were raised on music Rock~n~Roll of course, and they{my grandaughters } both of them have seen DMB the oldest twice shes 11 now and they have been raised on music as well mostly Dave Matthews, because they are her Mothers & her Nanny’s favorite band period.DMB Music has gotten my girls through the roughest & toughest times of their lives. And we have had some dousies.
“CELEBRATE” YOU SIR WE WILL,“FOR LIFE IS SHORT BUT SWEET FOR CERTAIN” ... MAY GOD GIVE THE “DMB COMMUNITY”, THE STRENGTH TO GET THROUGH THE HARDEST OF COMING DAYS,WEEKS,MONTHS,EVEN YEARS,ESPECIALLY EVERY TIME THEY TAKE THE STAGE AND REALISE, THAT THEIR ‘STAGE LEFT’ WILL NEVER BE THE SAME.
ALTHOUGH YOU WILL ALWAYS BE HERE WITH US JUST THE SAME.FOREVER YOU WILL LIVE ON…
FOREVER IN OUR HEARTS.
And if we listen closely we will still hear you play.
XO Bayou

I need to correct a previous statement I had typed in earlier ....I did not mean to take anything away from cartey ,Boyd,Steffan.
They are all the up~most talented musicians we have today.
I Deeply apologise I meant to type “The music you and The Dave Matthews Family
created together. Not only as friend ...nut as brothers with a purpose.
To give people like me a light when I am at my darkest of hours for myself & my family have sufferd so much, and we always pop in a Live Trac of DMB.
Thanx for the memories I have seen y’ll in Tampa, West Palm,Fl,Houston & at Jazz Fest in 2006 just after Katrina.
That is a show I will never forget.I will be 50 this year and I have attended my share of concerts through my life…but NOLA is one I will NEVER FORGET,
Rest In Peace…
If I Could Turn Back Time.I Would Go Back to April 29th 2006 and Stay There For~Ever!

I haven’t lived in Ch’ville in years, but always feel proud of our “home town band.“ I really admired LeRoi, his generosity to budding young musicians, his integrity & his seeming ability to stay true to himself despite the success and fame. My condolences to the band & his friends & family. A jewel has passed.
PS: Pleez, wear those helmits on the ATV’s, too many wonderful people have been lost over such a small detail, much love, flourz lady.
