Mr. Jefferson’s Kitchen

A new PBS cooking show called “A Taste of History” reawakened the kitchen at Monticello, preparing some of Thomas Jefferson’s favorite meals on Tuesday, July 21, 2009. Monticello officials believe it was probably the first time the kitchen was used in over 100 years.

Memorial honors a father’s sacrifice

Ann Townsend leads a memorial service for her father, George Frazier, at Holly Memorial Garden cemetery on Saturday, July 11, 2009.  Frazier’s plane went down during World War II and his body was never recovered.

At the Albemarle-Charlottesville Regional Jail, a group of inmates are putting their energies into writing, composing and rapping songs with a clean message. With the help of volunteer and mix master Kris Bowmaster, the end result will be a rap album that will be available locally.
