CvillePieDown 2009
Starting as a faux Internet feud on the social networking Web site Twitter, CvillePieDown competitors Marijean Jaggers (@Marijean) and Brian Geiger (@thefoodgeek) ended the dispute Sunday at the Mudhouse coffee shop on the Downtown Mall. Geiger was named “Charlottesville’s Best Piemaker 2009” for his “Double Strawberry” and “Bourbon Creme” pie entries. “It is difficult to believe this could happen without something like Twitter,“ Geiger said of the event. Charlottesville Mayor Dave Norris was one of four judges who determined the winner. Recipes for all the entries will be posted at http://cvillepiedown.com/.
