President Bush visits Monticello

By: Matt Rosenberg | Published: July 04, 2008 1:52 PM

His greeting to the audience - many of them waving red, white and blue fans to keep themselves cool on the muggy July morning - was plain and simple: “Happy Fourth of July.“ But the 43rd president quickly delved into a more complex message of American citizenry and freedom.

There’s a difference between free speech and decency.  Those who protested during the president’s speech demonstrated terribly poor judgment.  For many attending the ceremony, especially those being naturalized, it was a meaningful event, the culmination of a long journey.  What a shame to disrupt it.

Oh, and please don’t misunderstand.  They had every RIGHT to do it, they just should not have done it at the event itself.

At least he’s not selling our secrets to China, sleeping around in the Oval Office, nor killing those that oppose him (i.e. Ron Brown).

This evil tyrant Bush should be denounced whenever and wherever the opportunity arises…..

Mr. Jefferson is probably rolling in his grave at the thought of this tyrant on his farm.
