Ride to Vote

Minnesotan motorcyclist extraordinaire Andy Goldfine, the man who brought us Ride To Work Day, wants all members of the two-wheeled lunatic fringe to Vote to Ride and Ride to Vote.

Mr. Goldfine’s mission to raise the profile of motor riders everywhere is taking a turn to the polls. He doesn’t care who you’re voting for or against, but he wants you to take the wheels to to the ballot box.

“No matter which candidates, propositions and issues you support, please help demonstrate that motorcycle and scooter riding is an important part of our world’s mobility landscape,“ Mr. Goldfine said. “Ride to your polling place, park near the entrance, and wear your riding gear when you cast your ballot. Let the other voters see you as a rider!“

The idea is, if we show up in places we’re not expected, people may expect to show up in other places.

By the way, wearing your BMW, Harley-Davidson, Honda or even Buell T-shirt or riding jacket into the polling place is NOT a violation of state law against campaigning at the ballot. And don’t worry about it raining, once your underclothes get soaked, it’s pretty much all down hill so just relax and enjoy the day.

(PS, what kind of bike would Obama or McCain ride?)
