Elder, Gomez and Ragland collect All State honors
Albemarle's Kara Elder and Laura Gomez added another accolade to their list of outstanding high school volleyball achievements, as they both earned first team All Group AAA honors. Albemarle's Mark Ragland was selected as the state's top coach.

William Monroe wasn't particularly consistent, but the Dragons did enough Friday night, on short rest, to end a critical three-game stretch on a high note, holding off Orange County for a 64-51 victory.
