Sun, sand and softball

Louisa County, in its third trip to the Myrtle Beach tournament, posted a 3-2 record during the Grand Strand Softball Classic with wins over Logan High School (West Virginia) Charleston Catholic (West Virginia) and Myrtle Beach.

Albemarle edges Monticello in pitcher’s duel

“Ashley threw the ball well – she had control of her pitches all day,” said Albemarle coach Bill Hutchinson. “She keeps us in the game, and we’ll scrape and scramble to get a run or two.”

Western takes care of Covenant

“We were one or two plays from breaking the game wide open,” said Western coach Hunter Price. “You have to commend Covenant though, they pressured us on offense, they pressured us on defense. But we matched their intensity.”
