Fork Union forfeits pair of early sesaon games

Fork Union Military Academy is going to have to give back two Prep League victories after utilizing an ineligible player.
According to a press release, FUMA’s Prep League record, which was 4-0, is now 2-2 after the Blue Devils used a player who was too old for undergraduate competition in the later stages of two big victories by Fork Union over Norfolk Academy and Hargrave Military.
The release also indicates that FUMA self reported the violationa to the Virginia Independent Schools Athletic Association.
“This is a hard lesson for out school and our team,” Lt. Gen. John E. Jackson, Jr., FUMA’s president said in a statement. “But we are confident that modeling those virtures we endeavor to teach is of more value than a win-loss record.”
