Four Patriots on all-district volleyball teams

The All-Commonwealth District volleyball teams were announced on Tuesday and four Albemarle Patriots made the list with Megan Napolitano and Stephanie Strauss earning first-team honors and Sarah Terlesky and Jessica Block making the second team.

The selections of seniors Napolitano, Strauss and Terlesky could be a good omen for the Patriots as they move into the district tournament. An experienced, senior-laden team should be able to handle the rigors of the postseason. But Block’s selection could mean big things for Mark Ragland’s program down the road. The sophomore Block was the only player younger than a junior to be selected to the squads.

Three of Albemarle HS VB players have broken their school records and they will have several more games to add to their records.  Megan Napolitano kills, Stephanie Strauss blocks,  Jessica Block assists.  This is an outstanding accomplishment and each should be congratulated.
