Manilla nabs first set

Western Albemarle’s Joey Manilla’s march to glory at Radford has begun. Manilla, a sophomore, won the first set of his VHSL state semifinals match with Jamestown’s Eliot Mee.
Manilla has the chance to for a rare triple crown this week, as he’ll play in the doubles and team events in addition to his work in singles. The singles will be decided later today while the doubles and team events will start Friday.
