iTunes is in tune with local talent
This just in ... Shannon Worrell is back.
Her CD release party at Live Arts confirmed that she still has a poet’s voice, a musician’s ear and the ability to connect to a listener’s heart.
Even iTunes took notice.
“The Honey Guide” was released Thursday and, in a matter of days, the online music company selected Worrell’s record for this week’s featured releases in folk.
“I don’t know how they picked it,“ Worrell noted. “I had a little label in Nashville, Dualtone, who is distributing it digitally for me but they aren’t marketing it.
“Maybe it’s the artwork. It looks very charming up there.“
Maybe they like the music, too.
“I’m very happily surprised,“ she added. “I hope people go download it this week.“
Sounds good to me.
As do Sam Wilson and Brian Caputo of Sons of Bill, along with the likes of Sarah White, Charlie Bell, David Lowery, Kristen Asbury, all featured on “The Honey Guide.“
And ... speaking of hearts. Did I mention that Worrell donated ALL the proceeds from Monday’s CD release party to Live Arts?
Tune in to iTunes.
