Friday night lights can’t get any better than this.
OK, maybe they can. But I’ve never been to Texas, never watched pretty good volleyball in Kentucky and have no plans of writing about that stuff on an Augusta County sports blog. (So there.)

And I know you’re excited about them. I can sense it through the computer. Seriously, you give off this aura that just reeks of “Please, oh wise one, tell me which teams are going to win their games tonight.“
Either it’s that or horrible body odor. At which point you should probably start looking into investing a few extra bucks and going for the “clinical-strength” deodorant. Those of us who have made the switch have no underarm wetness (thus no unsightly sweat stains on our shirts), feel fresh all day and smell like we just walked out a of a dryer.
What the heck was I talking about again? Oh yeah, the picks. Let’s get to it (and you, meanwhile, think about upgrading your underarm product, OK?).

It can’t be the talent that keeps Waynesboro football from winning ball games.
If you look at a backfield with Steven Brown (the bruiser), Terrell Thompson (the quick guy) and Chet Berry (the passer), what you see is a solid group of starters.
It can’t be that this team doesn’t want to win. The look in the players’ eyes as coach Steve Isaacs gives one of his “I-Shouldn’t-Have-To-Tell-You-What-To-Do” speeches tells it all. They look hungry. They look ready. They get pretty fired up.
