R.E. Lee girls going black, want fans to do the same
The e-mail from R.E. Lee coach Jeremy Hartman said it all.
“We are wearing our black uniforms the rest of the way,“ he wrote late Sunday.
And his Lee Ladies want their fans to do the same.
They are encouraging those making the road trip to Tuesday’s Group AA, Division 3 semifinal at Richmond’s Siegel Center to make it a “black out” during their 3 p.m. game.
The Lee Ladies face Region III final foe Lord Botetourt in the semifinals with the winner moving on to Saturday’s championship game against the Freedom-Millbrook winner. Hartman said, if they play Saturday, they’ll wear the black again.
In the Region III final the Lee Ladies came back from a 13-point second-half deficit to grab a 58-56 win over the Cavaliers.
