Wilson vs. Strasburg Group A semifinals: Game 3
Coffield at the line up 1-0.
And a Guy kill makes it 2-0.
A long spike makes it 2-1 Wilson. Strasburg’s Stephanie Conde, who was a non-factor in the Region B title game has come alive at states. A Strasburg ace makes it 4-2 Rams.
A Jenna Smoot kill and a block gives the Rams a 7-3 lead.
The Hornets have closed it to 8-6 with Tiffany Crosby at the line. But a Smoot kills makes it 10-6 Rams.
It’s now 11-8 Strasburg with Bartley at the line, but Rams’ Conde makes it 12-8 with a kill. It’s now 14-8 and the Wilson crowd is trying to get the team back into it.
Smoot and Company have really started to open it up on Wilson. It’s now 18-9 Strasburg and after a nice Game 2, the Hornets are back where they started it Game 1, looking a little overwhelmed right now.
The Rams haven’t let up, riding a five-point run, including three straight from Smoot, to a 21-9 lead.
Wilson still nowhere near its groove and falls in the second game 25-10. Wilson is on the ropes. The Hornets have their work cut out for them.
