Weather conditions improving, but not quite everywhere

Weather conditions are certainly improving here. Temperatures on Afton and in Waynesboro - unofficially recorded by my car’s digital temperature monitor (it’s an OnStar thing, I think) was 44, with temperatures in Staunton at 48, according to NBC29.

Winter storm watch in effect

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch for the entire Augusta County region in effect from Tuesday evening through Wednesday afternoon. A hazardous weather outlook is currently in effect, and a winter weather advisory goes into effect at 4 a.m. Tuesday morning through 6 p.m. Tuesday afternoon.

As I turned from U.S. 250 down Lew DeWitt Boulevard for a quick stop at Starbucks, it was apparent the major Waynesboro thoroughfare was more like the skating rink at Rockefeller Plaza than a city traffic artery.
