American Shakespeare Center $58,000 short of January goal

The American Shakespeare Center is about $58,000 short of its $250,000 goal with five days to go.

Having raised $192,169, ASC said earlier this month it needed to raise $250,000 by Jan. 31, and $650,000 by May.

The ASC board chairman, Dan Layman said last week in a letter posted to its Web site that the goal for January was within our grasp.“ Many of its vendors, according to the letter, have “offered to release us from outstanding invoices,“ and on Jan. 17, ASC held a fundraiser at Veritas Vineyard & Winery.
