Blue Ridge 75 Inc. to discuss parkway anniversary plans

Blue Ridge 75, Inc., a non-profit organization managing the Blue Ridge Parkway’s 75th anniversary, will be holding a meeting Feb. 23 at the Hampton Inn in Fishersville.

The meeting will take place from 1 to 4:30 p.m. and is designed as an overview of the goals, mission, organizational structure and planning efforts thus far. Meeting participants will receive a parkway update from the National Park Service.

Other items on the agenda include opportunities for communities to be spotlighted on the 75th anniversary Web site, the process and deadlines for community events to be endorsed as part of the “Official 75th Anniversary Calendar of Events,” facilitated public input session with the Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development, a 75th anniversary logo and usage, merchandising program and a communications plan throughout 2009-2010.
