Turning a page closer to library expansion

Waynesboro has signed a contract with an architect to design plans for the expansion of the city’s public library, 15 months after voters approved a $1.3 million bond.

Voters approved the expansion during the 2007 referendum.

NBC29 reports that this step was delayed due to the economy and changes among city staff.

The library foundation plans to start a $300,000 capital campaign on top of the bond money.
