Waynesboro City Council agenda
Here’s the skinny on the Waynesboro City Council meeting tonight, which begins at 7 p.m. at the Charles T. Yancey Municipal Center downtown:
* consider adopting a proclamation naming February as Black History Month in Waynesboro; present proclamation to Estello Randolph.
* consider accepting a $25,000 grant from Dominion Virginia Power to The Virginia Council of Trout Unlimited for the construction of a picnic shelter/outdoor classroom at Constitution Park, and continued master plan development for downtown park land along the river.
* presentation from Joel Knopp, CPA, of Didawick & Knopp regarding the city’s Comprehensive Annual Financial Report for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2008.
* receive Planning Commission report and recommendation on the proposed 199-foot cell tower by nTelos. Consider introducing ordinance.
* receive Planning Commission report and recommendation on a request from Rhonda Howdyshell, executive director of the Staunton-Augustas-Waynesboro Habitat for Humanity to rezone property at 801 B Street to allow construction of a new house. Consider introducing ordinance.
* receive report from City Attorney Todd Patrick and consider setting public hearing for Monday, Feb. 9 to receive public comments on proposed noise ordinance.

At 6 p.m. tonight, the Finance Committee meets to discuss current fiscal year-to-date general fund revenues, expenses and enterprise fund revenues and expenses.
