Welcome to the Valley Pulse, the latest in blogs from The News Virginian.
It’s your place to get the latest news on what’s going on throughout the Waynesboro/Staunton/Augusta County region - from the halls of local government to breaking news and meeting outtakes. For instance, I’ll be sharing more news about last night’s Waynesboro City Council meeting. While I wrote about the council’s discussion about the refuse fund, the council also talked about a possible grant for the North Park ballfield and what is to happen with the partially-torn-down downtown wall.

It’ll be as interactive as you want it to be. The plan is to post several times daily on a wide range of topics - from the latest layoff news to highlighting the sights and sounds of the region - and to share those actual sights and sounds on the blog through audio, photos and video from time-to-time as well.

And for you political junkies who might be wondering where the Valley Politico has gone, it’s now part of the Valley Pulse. You’ll still get our political insights. And some of those wide-ranging topics will include the environment and outdoors, agriculture, stormwater, local economic issues, education, tourism, religion, crime and government, among other things.
