UVa hangin tough

Virginia has started the second half with, to quote Dave Leitao, some “energy.“ Two steals have resulted in easy points. Diane looks like he has his head in the game tonight. UVa leads 41-37 with 15:13 left.

Virginia trails at the half

The way this game started, you would never have expected Virginia to be down by three at the half. The Cavs, who trail 31-28, came out smoking, hitting four of their first five shots.
But then for some reason, Coach Dave Leitao started emptying his bench…Will Harris, Solomon Tat, Jamil Tucker. I think the team lost some of its continuity. By the time Leitao came back to his starters, FSU had found its groove.
The lowlight of the first half for Virginia was Mike Scott’s missed dunk. The freshman was all alone on the fastbreak and totally blew a jam.
That fired up these FSU fans.
Let’s see how the Cavs respond in the second half.

Implosion?

Virginia starting to implode…Big scoring drought, sloppy play. Still, the Cavs lead 20-19 with 8:17 to go in the half.
