Satisfy your Cavalier cravings here as UVa beat writer Whitey Reid blogs every day, no exceptions.

Did Mike Scott get shafted by Jay Bilas?

Well, a few weeks back Virginia senior Mike Scott got no love from Jason King, an ESPN.com blogger. King didn’t include Scott on his list of candidates for the Wooden Award and UVa fans went nuts, bombarding the comments section of his blog.

Now it looks to me like another ESPN fella may have disrespected Scott.

Former Duke player Jay Bilas does not have Scott on his Top 10 Big Men in College Hoops list.

What do you think? Did Scott get the shaft again?

To be honest, I haven’t seen a few of the guys who are Bilas’ list.

However, I did get to see Mississippi State big man Arnett Moultrie (No. 10 on his list) play in person against Vanderbilt on Saturday. I thought he looked OK, but nothing special.

The thing is, Bilas writes “Moultrie does not have a refined post game yet but has the tools to get better.“

How is a guy who doesn’t have a refined post game ranked ahead of Scott, who, arguably, is still in contention for ACC Player of the Year?

Consider the source of the disrespect.

That’s all I am going to say about that.

Mike Scott is by far one of the top players in the nation. You can bet pro scouts know that. Who cares what some flunky on ESPN thinks?

Even more fundamental, consider all aspects of this student-athlete, as an unselfish player, teammate, and leader—he is a breed apart from the norm.

He’s paid his dues, and deserves recognition for his achievement.

Not a fan of Jay Bilas I take it smile I’m not gonna lie. I’ve never liked Duke much, either.
