Saturday’s Virginia-Wake Forest game is still on, despite all this snow.
Here’s the press release that was recently issued by the University.
CHARLOTTESVILLE—The Atlantic Coast Conference men’s basketball game between Wake Forest and Virginia will be played as scheduled at John Paul Jones Arena on Saturday (Feb. 6). The game is scheduled to begin at noon and will be televised by Raycom.
ACC protocol indicates games should be played if both teams and two of the three game officials have arrived at the site. The Wake Forest team is in Charlottesville as are the three game officials.
“We are following ACC protocol and Saturday’s game will be played,” said Virginia Athletics Director Craig Littlepage. “Fans should make certain they can get safely to the game before making the decision to attend in these weather conditions. We encourage fans having to travel by car to stay at home and watch the game on television.”
Reserved garage parking passes will be honored in the parking garage at the arena. All other reserved parking pass holders will be asked to park in the West lot. The South, East and Cage parking lots are open to general admission parking for Saturday’s game.
The fan shuttle from the North Grounds parking area will not be in operation on Saturday.
Virginia Tech’s men’s basketball game with Clemson in Blacksburg will also be played as scheduled on Saturday.

Some things to consider before going to the game: Help your local and state government first responders and transportation agencies…
It’s funny how this University runs coaches out of town because the media and alumni can’t warm up to them.
Great work Whitey! Love reading your blog especially on game day. Look forward to in-game and post-game reaction.
It’s about time. I don’t doubt Mac’s love for UVA sports, but he is an embarassingly bad radio announcer. As…

Some things to consider before going to the game: Help your local and state government first responders and transportation agencies by staying off roads.
Follow local and state government emergency declaration orders. If you absolutely need to travel in an emergency… do not travel alone. Let someone know your timetable and your primary and alternate routes. Carry with you a winter storm survival kit which includes a Mobile phone… blankets… flashlight with extra batteries… high calorie non-perishable food and water… and a shovel.
If you get stranded in your vehicle… do not leave your car to try to walk for assistance… you can quickly become disoriented in wind driven snow and cold. This storm will subside Saturday evening… so wait in your car for emergency help to arrive. Periodically run your engine for about 10 minutes each hour for heat. Ensure your exhaust pipe is cleared of snow and ice. Crack your windows to avoid Carbon monoxide poisoning. Tie a colored cloth to your cars antenna to be visible to rescuers. From time-to-time… move your arms… legs… fingers… and toes to keep blood circulating. Still thinking of driving to the game?
