Law Enforcement
Law enforcement is provided by a sheriff, his 11 full-time road deputies, three full-time investigators, a full-time court officer, a full-time school officer and two full-time administrators. Sheriff Erik Weaver is assisted by Chief Deputy Randy Jenkins. The sheriff’s office is at 115 Church St. in downtown Madison.

Related sheriff-supported programs include TRIAD, a state-wide crime-prevention organization for elderly citizens; Fast Fax, a service offered to businesses that send out information on crimes and scams in the area; Project Lifesaver, a program that allows deputies to track missing people through tracking bracelets; and I.C.E., In Case of Emergency, files that hold health and contact information in one easily accessible and noticeable place.

State Police are also assigned to Madison County.
