Painters at the Lake Will Hold Reception Published: January 18, 2012 More than 100 works of art created by the members of Painters at The Lake (PATL) are on display at the Fluvanna Community Center in Fork Union throughout the months of January and February. A reception will be held at the community center from 2-4 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 21, and the public is encouraged to attend. Members of PATL participate in a nationwide Memory Box program that donates unique, hand-painted keepsake boxes to local hospitals, which give them to families that have suffered the death of a child. The show is co-sponsored by Fluvanna County Parks & Recreation and Fluvanna Art Association. This is the first year that PATL members have participated in the artist exhibits. The Community Center is at 5725 James Madison Highway, Fork Union. PATL meets monthly from September through May at the Lake Monticello Clubhouse on the third Saturday of the month. Residency at the Lake is not required. For more information, contact Marilyn Hale at (434) 589-6672) or JoAnn Oss at (434) 589-4478. (2) Comments • Email This Article |
