Registration for CNA and PCA Training Published: August 03, 2011 Open registration is under way for August classes at Karlise Care Essentials Training Academy. Classes start Monday, Aug. 15. The Academy’s August Class Schedule is posted online at http://www.kcetraining.com. Enrollment is open to anyone 18 years of age and older wishing to attain education and life skills needed to have a more proactive role in society. The main classes are for Medication Aide, Certified Nurse’s Aide and Personal Care Aide. One unique characteristic for the academy is that payment plans are available to all students. Arrangements can be made so that a student pays while attending. This has opened the doors for many women who are moving to get back in the workforce after having a child or those seeking to get a foothold toward a second career. “Many persons also come in order to become better caregivers for their aging loved ones,” shared Amanda Randolph, founder of the Karlise CARE Essentials Training Academy. A second characteristic is that the academy is now offering transportation to classes within a 30-mile radius. “There are many folks nearby who only have one vehicle in their household,” explained Randolph. “We’ve worked hard to find a way to make it possible for students to attend our classes, and once completed and graduated they will be able to utilize their knowledge, training experience to obtain a great career in healthcare.” The academy is designed to teach from a hands-on approach. The classrooms are far from typical. One is built as a small apartment to offer home care training, so students have the feel of comfort and not separation. There is a medication room replica of one you might find in an assisted living facility for medication aide students—to practice administering medications to mock residents. There is a hospital room and a nursing home room designed for practicing real life scenarios utilizing mock patients. Karlise Care Essentials Training Academy’s philosophy is based on the belief that the students’ needs are of the utmost importance. The entire staff is committed to meeting those needs. The academy’s administrative hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Karlise CARE Essentials Training Academy is at 77 Market St., Suite E in Palmyra.
