Theatre Troupe Earns Third Place Win Published: November 30, 2011 The FCHS Theatre Department performed the musical, How To Eat Like a Child (And Other Lessons In Not Being a Grownup) at the 2011 VHSL One-Act Theatre Festival held Saturday, November 5 at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Performing Arts Center in Charlottesville. The musical is based on the book by Della Ephron and adapted for the stage by John Forster and Judith Kahan, with music and lyrics by John Forster. This year’s play was directed by drama teacher, Craig Edgerton. Mr. Edgerton chose this play because “it was the right year to do a musical, given the amazing talent that is at Fluvanna. It was a challenge to do a musical in 30 minutes, but a lot of fun for everyone!” Ryan Davis, a senior planning to pursue music studies in college, handled the musical direction of the play. In addition to placing third at Districts, senior Katie Wilson walked away with the Best Actor award. The cast includes: Matt Anderson, Valerie Burgess, Camden Cassell, Heather Chambers, Victoria Cook, John Douma, Jake Eybers, Samantha Federico, Jamie Hall, Jessica Horn, Taylor Jobes, Zoë Jones, Nick Lauterbach, Emily Lindblad, Matt Lindblad, Spencer Small, Katey Sanders, Austin Pollard, George Wall, and Katie Wilson.
