Every Feb. 2, our good buddy Punxsutawney Phil pokes his head out of his burrow and ultimately decides whether there will or will not be six extra weeks of winter this season. How odd to think that this furry, flea-bitten rodent overrides the Weather Channel, the National Weather Service and the Doppler radar to decide whether you will be purchasing more parkas from the Burlington Coat Factory or buying a two-piece bathing suit from the Fashion Bug.
