Veterans Honored at Cunningham Veterans Honored Published: November 23, 2011 Dear Editor: For past few years Cunningham Elementary School Principal Sue Davies, teaches and PTO have invited Veterans organizations and current military personnel to a Veterans Day celebration and breakfast. This year it took place on Nov. 10. The veterans represented the Army, Navy, Marines and Air Force who served and are serving our nation during World War II thru to the currant wars, including Afghanistan. One National Guard Reservist in uniform was also present as well as representation of American Legion Post 74, Charlottesville. Members from Post 2003 and Veterans of Foreign Wars, Scottsville Auxiliary were also present. The children showed their appreciation by giving handmade cards and singing a heart-felt song. A wonderful breakfast was served by the cafeteria specialists. I would like to say a Great Big Thanks to all who participated. Gary D. Kuhns (3) Comments • Email This Article |
