Fork Union Baptist Church Hosts Living Nativity Published: December 07, 2011 By Laurie Jensen The manger will come to life this holiday season, when Fork Union Baptist Church hosts a living nativity on the grounds. Costumed actors and live animals will be on display Friday and Saturday, Dec. 9-10, from 6-8:30 p.m. Sponsored and organized by members of the Farm Bureau Women’s Committee, the driving force behind this event is church secretary and Farm Bureau Women’s Committee Secretary/Treasurer Frances “Tee” White. A longtime member of Fork Union Baptist Church, White has enlisted the support of church members and community volunteers to make the living nativity a meaningful part of the holiday season. Women’s Committee Chairman Joan Talley and her husband Richard are providing the animals for the manger scene. Many other local volunteers are coming together to help make this special event a community success, in keeping with the reason for the season. Fork Union Baptist Church pastor Rev. Warren Johnson is pleased that the church is hosting the event, and reminds us that “the Incarnation is the whole purpose of Christmas.
